gin cocktail inspired by the Mabel, Paris


We’ve recently stumbled across a short cocktail video series starring the world renown mixologist and owner of The London Cocktail Club, JJ Goodman. These videos, inspired by an article on The Six Coolest Cocktail Bars in Paris, gave us some serious inspiration to both visit Paris and make these French inspired cocktails. To give you a taste of the Paris night scene, watch the instructional videos below and have your hand at recreating them!


Baton Rouge- Baton Rouge

This Louisiana style lounge has created its very own cocktail named the Baton Rouge. This cocktail, drawing connections to the Vieux Carré contains Bitters, Vermouth and Xanté Liqueur. A cocktail sure to get you in the mood to visit the buzzing night scene of Paris.



Think you can make it yourself? Here’s JJ’s ingredients…

  • 1 dash Peychaud’s Bitters
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • 20ml Sweet vermouth
  • 20ml Xanté Liqueur
  • 20ml VSOP cognac
  • 20ml Gold rum

Garnish:  1 Lemon twist
Glass:  Cocktail



Paris’ favourite cocktail and rum bar Mabel presents authentic Paris at it’s best. The bar is even amidst a quaint grilled cheese shop- what more could you want from a Parisian bar? To try their famous Tu Seras Un Homme, Mon Fizz, have your go at JJ Goodman’s recipe below.


Mabel- Mon Fizz

Want to have a go yourself? Use the below ingredients and get started…

  • 30ml gin,
  • 20ml vermouth,
  • 15ml pistachio syrup,
  • 20ml lemon, lime,
  • 25ml egg white and
  • 50ml fizzy water,

Glass – short stem
Chased with a spiced egg yolk. (tobasso and pepper)
