Myers Rum
Myers’s Rum is a Jamaican dark rum brand produced by Diageo PLC.
The rum is Named after the founder Fred L Myers. The molasses-derived blending of up to nine different rums has been produced since 1879. Myer’s rum only uses “pure Jamaican molasses” and it is produced from continuous and pot still distillation and is then matured in white oak barrels for up to four years on.
The dark rum is often used in drinks, but also a common ingredient in cooking.
Dark rum differs from gold rum in that some residual molasses are retained in the final product, in order to slightly sweeten the rum flavor. Rum requires a minimum of two years aging.
