De Kuyper

De Kuyper Royal Distillers is a Dutch privately held company, which is manufacturing and marketing distilled liqueurs and spirits. In 1695 Petrus De Kuyper grounded the company. The Family owned a distillery in Schiedam by the 1752; this distillery was the prime center for the production of Dutch gin. In the 19th century the company had expanded its export throughout Europe and Canada. A new Distillery was built in Schiedam in 1911 and thereafter their production of liqueur began. Slowly they began to expand and partnerships were made with a distiller in Canada (1932) and one in the USA (1934). It was strategically, that they started in the us in 1934, which was after the Prohibition. Until 1960 gin was the main product, but slowly liqueur became more and more popular, and by the 1960 it had overtaken the production of Genève as the flavor in drinks instead of gin.
Under a perpetual agreement Jim Beam Brands bought the right of De kuyper for manufacturing and market their product. Because of their 300th anniversary the company received in 1995 from her royal highness Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, the title “Royal”. This made the company change your name from Johannes de Kuyper & Zoon to De Kuyper Royal Distillers. In 1995 De Kuyper Royal Distillers also took over “Erven Warnink” which was the leading producer of cream liqueurs and advocaat.
De Kuyper is a very good liqueur. The alcohol procent is different for each product.
