Von Ooster Bitter has a lovely, characteristic and powerful taste, among faithful followers have long since achieved “cult status ” and could never dream to offer other than just Von Ooster. Von Ooster is Denmarks Oldest bitter – launched in Denmark in 1899 and is of Dutsch origin but was first passed to a German production and later in 1935 to a Danish production. It was with Kösters Bitter market leader until Gammel dansk(Old Danish) came in 60 ‘s. The powerful and easy sweet bitterness oozes Christmas atmosphere, composed as it is in particular cinnamon, clove, orange and juniper. Von Ostend has today a small but extremely loyal crowd of older fans, some even have coalesced into a “Clip Club” for recommending drink ken. And once you have formed an association around a bitter, it can not be more Danish.
