Blackberry plant grows wild in all Danish forests. It is an evergreen shrub with long, straight end shot that takes root from the tip if they get in contact with the ground.
The name is derived from Bremmel, meaning thorny bush. All shoots are numerous, powerful, backward curved thorns, which has led to the plant to grow at an eye trained for fences.
Blackberries are a flerfoldssamfrugt with many small blue-black stone fruits. They are juicy and aromatic.
